Hailing from the town of Boras in Sweden, the force metallic element band Zonata was formed in 1998 by vocalist/keyboardist Johannes Nyberg, guitarists John Nyberg and Henke Carlsson, bassist Mattias Asplund, and drummer Mikael Hörnquistwith. Immediately snapped up by the Century Media label on the promise of their smartly named The Copenhagen Tapes demo (an obvious reference/tribute to Iron Maiden's Soundhouse Tapes), Zonata debuted with 2000's critically acclaimed Tunes of Steel -- as clear a descriptive as unmatchable could ideate for their classical metal-inspired melodic power alloy formula. Subsequent efforts like 2001's Reality (recorded as a quartet undermentioned Carlsson's divergence) and 2002's Buried Alive (introducing his replenishment, modern second guitarist Niclas Karlsson) generally followed the same successful design, with additional emphasis being placed on catchy choruses and periodic symphonic-leaning keyboards, only scorn besides receiving widely positive reception from fans and press, Zonata unexplainably stone-broke up in 2003.

Spacey fears cast have become gamblers

Kevin Spacey has joked that he fears his latest movie has turned his co-star Josh Gad into a gambling addict.
In the fact-based film '21' Spacey plays a mentor to a group of trained card-counting mathematician whiz-kids who subsequently took Vegas casinos for millions in winnings.
According to Contactmusic.com Spacey said: "I think we might've made a few compulsive gamblers. I think Josh Gad needs an intervention at this point because he's a mad man."
Speaking about filming in Las Vegas, Spacey added: "I didn't gamble much while I was there, but we were there for a month or so and I know some of the crew did get into some trouble and some of the actors couldn't resist going out and trying to see if they could actually count the decks... I don't think they did too well."

Queen - May To Buy Beleaguered Radio Station

QUEEN star BRIAN MAY is in talks to buy a British radio station to save it from closure.

Digital station Planet Rock is facing being shut down unless its parent company GCap Media finds a suitable buyer by the end of May (08).

And the legendary guitarist was so saddened by the prospect of seeing the rock music station disappear, he is launching his own bid to keep it open.

He says, "(I am) mounting a rescue operation to save the station. I can't tell you who I am 'in league' with, but I am part of a small group of people who have great hopes that we will succeed in taking over the station, and putting it on a firm footing, for the benefit of its growing audience.

"DAB (digital) radio has had a brave start, and can provide freedom from domination by commercially minded programming, but it might, at this point, slip between the cracks.

"I believe this cause is worth supporting... and will be doing my best to put my money and expertise where my mouth is! We hope to be able to make an announcement soon."

Arnold Schwarzenegger - Schwarzenegger Backs Fired Ugly Betty Crew

LATEST: California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has offered his support to angry crewmembers on U.S. series UGLY BETTY, who will lose their jobs when the show moves from Los Angeles to New York.

Producers last week (6May08) made the decision to relocate the set to make the most of new tax incentives on offer in New York.

But the move will leave 300 people out of work, including dry cleaners, caterers and construction firms.

The disgruntled employees grouped together to take out an ad in Hollywood trade paper Variety, appealing to Schwarzenegger to help stop the loss of more business.

Addressing the letter, the governor insists tax incentives have been drawn up - but have yet to be approved by the California legislature.

He insists they are a necessity, if the state wants to keep its status as the home of movies and TV.

He says, "What happened was productions that shifted to other states, didn't come back to California; they went to Louisiana, they went to Florida, they went to New Mexico because they give great tax incentives."
